ABOUT FLATNZ

If you are deeply attached to FIFA and existing football/soccer leagues, and your dearest wish is to control Manchester United in the FA Cup, this is not the place for you.  If running a team named after breakfast cereals in an alternative league format tickles your fancy, this could be the place for you!  Only the game itself is sacred in FLATNZ.  Everything else is open to change.

FLATNZ is a text based soccer league, run with MSWL software.  It is not for the hard-core gamer who wants multiple games a week, or possibly a day.  It is aimed at those of us who like to indulge when we can find the time, and need a game that is at our convenience, rather than the other way around.

The game has no attachment to real life teams, i.e. how Manchester or Renaldo do in a given week has absolutely zero effect on any team or player (although one or two of the managers might shed a tear).

Managers in FLATNZ create their team according to rules for expansion teams, or take over an existing team whose manager has left the game for some reason.  It is up to the manager to coach the team and direct their match  tactics in such a manner as to improve the standing of the team.

For more information than you will ever want to know, download the FLATNZ rules.  To see examples of reports and rosters and screeds of data, just follow the links.

The league format was originally created by Athol Kay.

FLATNZ is in its 15th season.

I still don't know; what is e-soccer/football?

How can I join?
